Jack Kennedy: Music

Wind

(Jack Kennedy)
Again you’re cursing the wind,
when’s it ever gonna end?
Will you ever bend?
It will go where it will
and not where you want.
What do you want.....?

My spirit blows free to you,
carrying all the seasons of my life.
But you insist on sun when I feel grey,
you insist on calm when I cannot be contained.....

You can’t catch me,
your hands will slip through me
and you’ll cry in fury,
beating your fist in the air,
but, no, you’ll not hurt me.....

Sit down,
feel me blowing about you.
Listen to the winds of my heart
and watch from within:
see the storms rise!
Halt before the moment of confusion,
feel the rain, feel the pain in me too,
hear me cry and run tears,
and feel me calm,
and feel me alive
after lightning and thunder.....

Feel me begin
to pick up and rise
again to a gentle wind.
I will bring you warmth,
I will bring bright leaves
to swirl about your feet and hair.
And you will arise and reach out,
and we will dance, windsong and air,
I will be with you in the night,
keeping you cool, keeping you warm....

Let me blow as I will,
see me just as I am.
Feel the currents in your heart as I pass,
touch clouds of wonder,
hear clouds of thunder,
breathe in the wind all around you.
