I used to wait and sit by the phone
now I take it with me whenever I roam
I’ve heard everything but I don’t hear your ring
on my cellular phone.

Sometimes I roam outside of my cell
bad reception with you is making life hell
the monthly bill stings but I don’t hear your ring
on my cellular phone.

I should be patient, should wait a while
before I try to find out where you’ve been
but as I’m out walking, in my head I’m talking
to you, I redial and try you again.

I pay for call waiting and caller ID
check out my mailbox, but there’s nothing for me
I could feel like a king if I just heard your ring
on my cellular phone.
