Jack Kennedy: Music

You Change Your Mind

(Jack Kennedy)
You Change Your Mind

First you call me over, you treat me so kind
You run your fingers through my hair and help me unwind
You hug me and kiss me, I feel so refined
And then, you change your mind.

You tell me you love me, my heart is entwined
Around your little finger, I follow you blind
We went out on the town and we wined and we dined
And then, you change your mind.

Is it my imagination or all in my head?
Or do you mean the opposite of everything you said?

(Instrumental)

“Yes, uh-huh, I did so” means “no, unh-uh, did not”,
“of course I do remember” means, of course, that you forgot.

You say that living with me has become just a grind
You tell me you’re out looking just to see what you find
You say you’re gonna move on and leave me behind
And then, you change your mind.

(Instrumental)

Let me make a statement, don’t take it as derogative,
I can’t make heads or tails of you, I’m really not that cognitive,
To put it out another way, in the form of interrogative
Are you being straight with me or using your prerogative?

First you call me over, you treat me so kind
You run your fingers through my hair and help me unwind
You hug me and kiss me, I feel so refined
And then, you change your mind.
And then, you change your mind.
And then, you change your mind.
