Clouds In The Sky
(Jack Kennedy)
Clouds In the Sky
Blue summer day on the porch in the sunlight
wind blowing hot, I was thinking of you
I looked at the clouds, saw figures and faces
the love in my heart came from out of the blue.
Billows of white and mountains of shadows
a hawk spread his wings and floated up high
white in the sun, the clouds were a mirror
of feelings for you and the time passing by.
Clouds in the sky
like you and I
we’re quite the show
we come and go
A nose and a mouth then whispers and kisses
the head of a horse and a break in my heart
the sound of your voice, the rumble of thunder
we meet at the borders and then pull apart.
Magnificent shadows and giants with hammers
these visions appear and crowd out the blue
hawk flies away, sky blending together
on the edge of a storm I was thinking of you.
Clouds in the sky
like you and I
quite the show
we come and go.
